Our story

We are a woodworking company based in Sacramento, CA. We make custom furniture and casework. We do both residential/commercial projects.

If you’re familiar with Block & Bowl, then you may already know about our work.

When we first started Block & Bowl, we were doing mostly kitchen items and some bespoke furniture. As we started to do more projects, we realized the potential for home & commercial furniture, casework, decor and more. Over the past few years, we’ve worked directly with clients as well as designers on creating beautiful bespoke pieces for both residential and commercial spaces.

We decided to showcase this type of work separate from our Block & Bowl brand, and launch our new brand Tyne Design Company. The Tyne comes from Newcastle Upon Tyne (located along the River Tyne with the famous Tyne Bridge) where our lead woodworker/founder Thomas is from and where he originally learned his craft.
